I am at the State Board meeting, and I miss your smiling face!  I just found out that my school won't pay for NAEA, so I have to decide if I can afford to go and not be reimbursed.Hope to see you there! What's the topic of your presentation, what day will it be?

Has taken me three years to "retire" from education.  Although I'm not totally gone yet (presenting at NAEA in NY this March, phew!), I AM dropping some of these sites I've been running, albeit a touch too passively as of late.

I can start by asking if you are aware of the great news source provided by California Alliance of Art Education- 

AB 2446 was vetoed by the Governor on Sept. 30. Outcome of the elections could see this come back. Thank you all for your letters, phone calls, faxes, and emails.

We aren't quite sure what happened here, but the joy we all shared, ever so briefly, is gone. We have a new bill, SB 253 (Wyland), to fight against. As the saying goes, different but the same... Just as devastating to secondary arts. Read the bill here: SB 253 (Wyland). When we figure out the details of the differences, we shall post more. Do know that, once again, we must write and fight.
